To become any type of security professional in the state of Oregon you are required to be certified by the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards & Training. At NWDA we offer the classes necessary for individuals seeking a career in security as an armed or unarmed security professional.
Individuals who seek to be certified as unarmed security professionals by the Oregon DPSST are required to complete standardized training. Over two 8-hour classroom days, our NWDA instructors will deliver not only the material required by the state but additional material such as the most recent best practices and practical applications based on the experience of our instructors in the field to optimize the performance of unarmed security professionals following their initial certification.
To be eligible for participation, candidates must meet certain criteria. Specifically, they must be at least 18 years of age and possess one of the following qualifications: a General Educational Development (GED) certificate, a high school diploma, or a higher-level certification or degree.
